Hey Steve! I just had the privilege of playing a 68 Les Paul Black Beauty! OMFG!

Too cool for words. Only another guitar player can appreciate the sound and feel.

Just thought I would share.  Cool

Peace~

way cool Timster, and i'm sure you treated that fine lady like a lady should be treated

for the layman, however, we should explain a tad

there are two distinct guitar doctrines

Leo (the people's guitar) Fender>

and Les paul>

these are the icon's of the electric guitar world, and everything else is merely a knockoff , although admittedly some of the jap knockoffs play better, and are manufactured more consistently pristine than the originals

for instance a Gibby 335 costs an easy 10X what my Dot3 eppy does, but the feel of those gibby's is incomparable, in fact a friend who was a rather good Luther lent me his Les Paul custom deluxe for a week>

now one could say, it's not the instrument that makes a musician, but then i'd wager i might do a tad better driving a pantera vs. a pinto during rush hr as well.....

One could, and it's true, but the crappier the instrument the more work has to go into the mechanics rather than the musicianship.

A fine instrument wants to sing, the musician need only give it voice.  A poor instrument, one has to work at it.

I'll bet great electric guitars like that would make an excellent noise if they were smashed into gigantic speaks a la the Who.

More sad than funny, to me.

Black humor of Kafkian political debates often is more sad than funny, Guin.

Did my sympathetic attempt to agree with you insult you, Guin?

Ask youself why you felt insulted, if that is the case.

No, not insulted at all, but were you agreeing with me?  Since you expressed above that you thought it was funny, I assumed, well, that you found the clip amusing rather than sad.

Yes, of course I was.

Sad and funny are the elements of black (AKA gallows) humor, Guin.

Advocates for gay marriage are facing the impenetrable ignorance and illogic of very dumb, frightened (and frighteningly dense) people.

This presented just how impenetrably stupid their opposition really is.
