Then what action are you able to take?

Can you put in a code verification?

Other Boards do not suffer so with spammers.  Why is ours so 'special'?

Of course they do.  That's why there are resources such as databases cataloging hundreds of thousands of them trying to register on boards all over the Internet.

We no longer have a problem with them getting in.

But we potentially have a problem with genuine posters not wanting to wait around for the 2 hours to 2 days it might take to get authorised.

However, this has given me a different idea.  I'll get back to you shortly with it.

It certainly doesn't involve much of a change or effort on your behalf Gwen, and it may satisfactorily encourage actual registrants to wait for the period of time it takes to get authorised. 

It also won't involve any change whatsoever to the current registration process, which obviously is the one the Board has.
