If it was that good OR that reliable the Spooks would have had Bin Laden years ago.

Just put em in some of the stuff that they give to the indigents that will eventually get to leadership.

Boom.....

Techmology has a way of getting more effective over time, though.

Bet your ass this one will because there's two reasons to make it so:

1. Marketing

2. Power and control.

Mighty powerful reasons like that just don't get ignored.

Money will be found to make this technology invasive.

I purposely didn't link to the home page

It doesn't really sound as insidious as i was 1st led to believe. Actually it sounds like an extension of GPS.

I couldn't find a date on the link....

ETA:

Shirley the Spooks have thought about putting a tracking device in some of this stuff....

no doubt they have Keld.

in fact , i'll wager they're a few dominoes ahead of anyone else , right on the technological edge of things

but what we're talking here is dumb technology proliferating the public..........

RFID Applications are limited only by imagination! Many will become cost effective as the price of individual tags reduces with volumes manufactured, and other opportunities will be enabled as the technology develops.

Dumb?

It's application could be a boon for mankind...or enormously evil.

Expect it to be used for purposes that we call agree are both good and bad, would be my guess.

This continued erosion of our privacy is inevitable.

All the more reason to keep our goverments on the up and up so such technology isn't abused

Ergo, I can only conclude that future generations are hosed.

In a big way.

And to add insult to injury, we'll doubtless be paying through the nose for the privilege.

Golly.

And I can remember when most my money went up my nose.

Odd how things change over time, isn't it?

Clearing out the high power analog tv emissions will improve signal to noise ratio for RFID emitting in the 700MHz band, and potentially allow passive satellite tracking of these RFID signals.

In other words, zzifgy blaut na fretoides ichima gusimo tv fraytet ganzinsibo echhtami yowchimburo fap danachek elligwam chao RFID ingshinaublatsa uyet blaut 700MHz urgatsmay, bek urchimadingofa eshoine d'uktana oganapandtajai chikinowaka uch peingno RFID yowchimburin.  Now I get it.

It means the 700 megahertz bandwidth is polluted by noise, Andrew.

Meaning you can follow a single set of footprints easily, but if there are 400 additional people walking all around ...

See I thought that cleaning up lower band was why the FCC agreed to allow more use of digital to begin with so long ago.

The problem being the technology just wasn't there at the time...
