I could see myself doing something similar. I try and keep busy and I don't really travel well anyway. A vacation here and there but the day to day needs something to keep you occupied.

Open a pub, or spend your days sniffing cocaine out of a supermodel's belly button?

Running a pub after winning the lotto sounds like my idea of heaven.

Having the financial freedom to be in it for the social aspects and not so worried about the bottom line, plus the ability to take a leave and go on holidays when desired - perfect!

These are some very lucky folks.

Don't think the wife will agree to the second happening. Heck, with the way I drink, she probably wouldn't want to see the first happening either. Wink

Guinness had a "win an Irish pub" contest in the past.  For a social person this could be some fun.  Not sure many of us would qualify. Wink

This pub is in Llanelli remember...

Now a bar in Barbados, or in New Zealand, or the Maldives, yes...

But Llanelli?

It's where their friends and family are, though.

Personally, if I won the lottery, after getting sick of travel (yeah, right!) I'd open a bar in a tropical locale - and fly my friends and family there to visit me.

Brief visits, of course.  Cheesy

This is the pub in question (will open google street view)

Wait a short while after the initial map opens and you'll get a panoramic view you can scroll round, dead neat!

Cool!

Just looked up a few other addresses, including my current workplace.  Google is neato!

I can see the outline of my aunt's vegetable garden in Maine, and my little red car parked in front of my house.  I can see that whoever bought the house I grew up in hasn't added on, or done much to the landscaping, and the shed my father built 45 years ago is still there.

Strop,  that pub beckons...
